The Parents Handbook: This handbook is available to all parents and is provided before "Reporting-In" day. It is analogous to an owners manual for a USCGA Cadet. Please visit this link for the 2007 update of this important document!

Reporting-In Day is Monday, 30 June, 2008. More detailed information will be available here as the date draws nearer. Check back for updates!

Picnic: Families should plan to spend the entire day at the Academy. The Cadets will be busy, but there are plenty of interesting activities throughout the day for families and, at the end of the day, you will see your Cadet one more time. In prior years, an excellent barbecue lunch has been hosted by the New England Chapter. Ticket information will be presented here when details are confirmed. Check back for updates!

Pre-Reporting-In Day Hosts: Each year, parents from Connecticut's Paul Foye Chapter serve as host families to new Cadets who are traveling to New London alone. Contact Kate Pizzi, Host Family Coordinator via email or via telephone at (860) 228-2377 (h) or (860) 550-4663 (c) for more detailed information.

"As Your Cadet Reports" was begun a few years ago by parents of the Chesapeake and Potomac Chapter who have "been through it." It provides a wealth of information designed for new Cadets and their parents. This guide is an invaluable source of information that can answer many of your questions and it supplements the information the Academy will send you. Also, a link to a FAQ page has been added to our main page. NOTE: if the information the Academy sends you differs from either of these, or any other source of information, follow the official word as it might represent a recent change. Also, these guides are 'works in progress', so comments are very welcome. Please contact the webmasters if you have any suggestions to make.

Please contact the with any issues, advice or comment on this site and observe our web policy on its use.
